Sporting Futures USA team up with Crowborough Athletic FC

Sporting Futures USA is proud to announce that we will become the primary sponsor of Ryman Isthiam League club Crowborough Athletic FC for this coming season.
Crowborough Athletic will wear the Sporting Futures USA logo on their club shirts and will do so at 1st, reserve & youth academy team levels.

Adam Hay, Sporting Futures Head of Sport, England said “Sporting Futures USA is proud to represent Crowborough Athletic Football Club as their 2011/12 club sponsor.

We believe that our Student Athlete Development Program represents the ideal starting point for aspiring young sportsmen & women who wish to gain a university degree whilst competing at the highest level in their sport. We believe that CAFC shares the same enthusiasm for developing top young players for the senior game and support also the importance for players in education.

Former CAFC youngsters, Matt Kenton and Elliott Kelly have already successfully completed the Sporting Futures Student Athlete Development Program and have completed their first year as student athletes in the United States. Matt Kenton of Grand View University, Iowa and Elliott Kelly of Notre Dame College, Ohio are currently enjoying great success in the classroom and on the playing field. Both squads finished the 2010/11 season as nationally ranked teams and competed in the prestigious NAIA National Tournament in Alabama. Both teams met each other in the quarter finals with Notre Dame progressing to the final where they finished runner ups.

Our aim is to support the clubs future success, however we will be paying close attention to CAFC’s strong U18 youth academy. We hope our relationship with the club will highlight their attention to each players future both in sport and education. Ultimately we hope to create an avenue for the clubs academy players who wish to fulfil ambitions in the United States and gain a first class degree by doing something they love, playing football.”

Paul Boggis of Crowborough Athletic Football club added “this commitment and partnership from two such prestigious companies is very important to our club as we plan our campaign for next season. With our recently announced U18 Academy we will continue to develop talented young footballers who will have the opportunity to play at the highest level they can achieve. Our partnership with Sporting Futures allows further opportunities for these boys.

Success for Stirling Albion Academy Players

Sporting Futures USA's David Binnie and Graeme Donald were delighted to see three of their Stirling Albion U-19 Academy graduates offered two year professional contracts with the clubs 1st team.

Josh Flood, Daniel Ashe and Gary Brass all made the step up this year and will hope to cement a regular place in the Stirling Albion 1st team in next season's SFL Division 2.

Both Graeme and David take a great deal of satisfaction from seeing their players make the grade. Equally, both are just as proud of their other players who will take up the chance of playing within the US College system this coming fall.

David Binnie commented: "Our job at Stirling Albion, if you like, is to prepare players for playing in the first team. This season has been particularly successful in that regard with Danny, Josh and Gary making the grade. We are thrilled for them and have high hopes for their continued development at the next level. We also hope that both Daly McSorely and Andy Hunter can impress enough in pre-season to win a contract for themselves. The downside of our job is informing the other members of the team that they do not have a future at the club. This again is another reason why we do our utmost to find opportunities in the the United States for the players who are eager to take on this opportunity."

Sporting Futures USA wish the lads all the very best next season whether in the Stirling Albion FC 1st team or within the United States College System.
